Special Visit by Presidential Candidate Donald Trump

Cleveland Plain Dealer - Front Page 09 09 16   Donald Trump Round Table Discussion

Last week, our school had the honor of hosting a Presidential candidate. On Thursday, September 8th, Mr. Donald Trump visited CASSA for a roundtable and to deliver a speech about education policy.

During the roundtable, Mr. Trump met with current and recently graduated students, guardians, staff members, and board members. We were additionally honored to be joined by Representative Andrew Brenner who chairs the Education Committee here in Ohio, Lenny Schafer from our sponsor, OCCS, and Ron Packard from our management organization, ACCEL Schools.

Following the roundtable, Mr. Trump addressed CASSA students, parents, and invited guests in a formal speech about education policy, parts of which were televised nationally. Mr. Trump is a supporter of School Choice and charter schools, and outlined a plan to utilize $20 billion in federal funding to establish block grants that states could use to help low-income families enroll their children at the school of their choice, including charter, private, parochial, and traditional public schools.
