Welcome to Cleveland Arts & Social Sciences Academy (CASSA). Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy was founded on the simple convictions that a first-rate education is the birthright of every individual; and that every child should be challenged to reach his or her full potential. Our mission is to surpass the global standards of academic excellence by investing in partnerships with our students, community and home environments, in order to encourage the development of creativity and self-direction. We ensure that all students receive the focus and attention required to achieve academic excellence by engaging each student through their unique talents.
Teachers and staff at the Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy meet students where they are and move them to higher levels of performance. By focusing on the entire child and using a holistic approach, each student’s passion for learning is ignited. Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy has truly embraced the motto “Failure is not an option”.
Currently, our Academy has a student population of approximately 260 students in grades Early Kindergarten through grade eight. CASSA currently has 27 staff members. In addition to core academic subjects, students have the benefit of weekly art, music and dance classes. Special services available to students include: special education, literacy support, and counseling. Classroom instruction begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. for scholars in kindergarten through third grade. Scholars in fourth through eighth grade are dismissed at 3:30 p.m. unless they have a sibling who is dismissed at 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.
We encourage all parents/guardians to maintain regular communication with their child’s teachers and be actively involved in the school community. Checking the school calendar, website, and our Facebook page for events and activities will help keep you informed.
If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact the office by calling 216-229-3000. We are looking forward to meeting your child and helping foster a love of learning.

Community schools offer an alternative to the local public school. They are tuition-free and open to all students. Community schools are among the top-performing schools in the nation.
Our educational approach has five principles at its core. These principles provide a strong foundation for learning and include:
1) Individualized Learning Plan for all scholars, 2) High expectations for student achievement, 3) Safe and secure learning environment, 4) Integrated technology to advance achievement, 5) Collaborative relationships with parents and community members.
Individualized LearningWe care about every student and are committed to preparing children for lifelong success. Teachers and staff consistently assess and analyze data to successfully implement Personalized Student Achievement Plans (PSAPs) and ability-based groups for targeted instruction.
Academic ExcellenceAs part of the ACCEL Schools network, we strategically apply best practices to our curriculum design, teacher training, and integrated technology to drive continuous gains in academic performance.
Safe and CaringWe care about the well-being and development of each child. We insist on a secure and orderly school. We address every aspect of security, from building codes and safety procedures to codes of conduct and character education.
