About our school

Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy (CASSA) is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in kindergarten (Early Education) through 8th grade in Cleveland, Ohio. Ohio rates every school on a five-star system, and CASSA earned 4.5 stars overall in 2024-25, ranking #7 among all Ohio charter schools and #2 among charter schools in Cuyahoga County. The school's Performance Index score jumped from 79.7 to 92.8 in a single year, a 20-percent increase that places CASSA in the top 30 percent of all Ohio schools.
CASSA is built around arts and social sciences. Every student experiences creative arts alongside rigorous academic content, and the school treats neither side as optional. Dance, visual arts, and social studies aren't enrichment extras. They're the method. When a child connects historical events to creative expression, or works through a social issue in a classroom performance, the learning sticks in a way a worksheet alone never could. The school earned a 5-star Gap Closing rating and a 5-star Progress rating in 2024-25, which means it moves every student forward, including those who started behind.
That’s the core of what CASSA does: it sees every child as an individual, not a test score, and builds a school community where creativity and compassion aren’t the reward for good academic performance. They’re the foundation of it.
CASSA is a publicly funded school. There's no tuition, no fees, and no cost to families.
- Every student gets free breakfast and lunch.
