Why We Teach the Arts

French artist Henri Matisse said, “Creativity takes courage,” and we wholeheartedly agree! Whether painting or sculpting, dancing or acting, singing or playing an instrument, artistic expression requires skill and bravery. And the rewards for cultivating creativity are limitless! That’s why arts education is an important part of our educational offerings.

Did you know that students who study music perform better in math and science? Performers hone public speaking and problem-solving skills. And visual artists develop their imaginations and learn to think outside the box. The academic, character traits, and life skills that students develop while participating in the arts helps them succeed in school and prepares them to excel in college and careers.
